Last summer I interned with my Aunt, Janet Sim, doing basic accounting and bookkeeping work. I mainly worked out of her home office, but she would occasionally take me to a client’s business to show me how she did her work there. Throughout the internship, I learned how to file financial documents digitally, journalize transactions, do employee payroll, and much more. During my 70+ hours interning, I was able to digitize 30+ years of financial statements. I enjoyed doing the work as I picked up on things quickly and the environment was very relaxed and easy to work in. This internship was very valuable to me as I am considering pursuing a degree in accounting, so I was able to get a taste of what that would entail through this experience.
