My senior year has passed faster than I could have expected. The start of the school year when I was still getting over summer break ending and driving into school for the first time feels just like yesterday. Now, everyone's senior projects are wrapped up and graduation is two months away. I'm really excited to finish this chapter of my life and move on into deeper waters. Though I'm still apprehensive about my future (such as what subject I want to major in), I feel prepared enough to take on the challenges that come my way. I'd like to attribute this feeling of preparedness to KCS as it allowed me to explore college in my own way before the REAL real thing.

At first, college classes seemed daunting, but I've since fallen into a comfortable routine. I get to the college, each lunch, study in the library, and then tough out my chemistry classes in that specific order. Even thought the topics I'm learning now are much more complex than last year, I'm able to understand them more easily as I've developed more efficient study habits. I'm hoping I come out with all A's this semester.
Junior year brought about a new set of difficulties for me. From starting on-campus college classes, to our self-guided Junior Projects, it hasn't been easy. It was hard transitioning from sheltered classes to real college classes, especially when it came to my Chemistry Class. It was hard to understand the lecture at first, but over time, I learned to really make use of any available time to ask my professor questions about anything I didn't understand. When it came to my Junior Project, I had a hard time finding the direction in which my project should go. This was an obstacle I overcame by fleshing out my project with a timeline and overall holding myself accountable by making goals that I needed to finish by a certain date.
