Reflection
This project was focused on creating a timeline for specific events that were found in the textbook and in other given resources. The professor gave us the names of specific events and we had to find their dates and put them in order. I had to create a timeline template myself as there were too many dates to fit into the templates that I found online. The professor stressed that all of the event dates should be taken from the textbook and provided resources and that she would know if we used the internet for our dates as the internet conflicted with the textbook. This project best demonstrates Information Skills. The dates of some events weren't explicitly stated in the book so I had to make an educated guess on some. I also had to rely on the notes that I had taken in-class. I chose this project as a work sample because it was more challenging than I thought to create a timeline like this. It was my first time making a timeline and it allowed me to frame all of these events in a way that made history - both written and unwritten - easier to understand. If I could start over, I would definitely start on this project a little earlier. I thought that collecting the dates would be cut and dry, but it turned out to be very difficult for some of them. I enjoyed this project overall as it pushed me to revisit old material and read in-between the lines in some areas. This project will be a useful resource to me next year when I take Anthropology 152.
