Reflection
This project served as half of my Algebra 2 final. We were paired up with partners, and were tasked with creating a landscape using different functions (quadratic, cubic, quartic, quintic, etc.) graphed on Desmos. We had to first make a "roller coaster" using a set amount of functions, and from there, create a landscape using any function we wanted.
Why I Chose This Assignment
I chose this assignment as it was a nice alternative to regular test-taking. It proved to be a good challenge as my partner and I had to take turns graphing the functions, and, for the most part, copy and paste the same functions over and over again but slightly tweaked to create things like a mountain range and a lake.
21st Century Skills
This project challenged my Interpersonal Skills. Due to there being a computer shortage, my partner and I had to work on one computer. As a result, we had to fully maximize our efficiency while also switching turns graphing the functions so as to not seem like only 1 person was doing all the work. This led to many side discussions while working, about what options were best for time and what did or didn't work.
Current Growth
This project really forced into me an understanding of how to graph functions, and especially how to use Desmos. The amount of times we had to copy and paste functions to create the landscape were very labor intensive on our fingers. The time limit that was set did not help either.
Future Growth
I got 100/100 points for this project, so I don't think there's anything else I could have improved on. My partner and I had good communication, and we ended up with an end result that didn't look too bad.
