Reflection
For this assignment, we were tasked with choosing a project and coding it using the software Snap! There were 5 projects to choose from in total, from coding a game of pong, to making rows of houses. Out of these projects, I chose to create the line art game. The final result of the project is a blank canvas that you can draw on using keyboard controls.
Why I Chose This Assignment
This assignment served as a sort of turning point for me. In the past, I didn't really enjoy coding as I found it to be tedious, even when the end result was something very simple like a moving sprite. Through this assignment, I found a sense of enjoyment while doing it, which is a massive turnaround from what I felt before.
21st Century Skills
This assignment best demonstrates my Information Skills. Besides having to use a computer, I had to reread the instructions for the project many times, as I would often get stuck on this certain aspect of the coding process. Sometimes, I wouldn't find the answer to my problem in the instructions and had to find the answers myself online.
Current Growth
This assignment helped foster my growth in coding, as well as problem solving due to things like tiny errors in spelling resulting in your code not working or different code blocks looking very similar and confusing, leading to various mix-ups.
Future Growth
In the future, I would make more of an effort to read the instructions more carefully the first time, so that I won't have to go back and reread them a bunch of times.
