Reflection
In this assignment, we were sorted into teams and had to pick what project we wanted to do to help HARF. HARF is an animal rescue foundation that not only focuses on re-homing animals, but on educating the community about their mission as well. Because of this, my team decided to make an informational video on how to properly approach a dog and pet it.
Why I Chose This Assignment
I chose this assignment because of how unique it was. Due to our whole video being about how to pet a dog, we needed a dog to be the star of the show. Once we had acquired the dog, it was a whole other story trying to get it to move in the places we wanted it to, and especially, stay still. It was an overall fun project.
21st Century Skills
This assignment mainly focused on Civic Literacy & Engagement. Through the creation of our video, we were able to educate our community about the safety aspect of approaching and petting a dog.
Current Growth
This project mainly helped grow my communication and editing skills. We were assigned teams of 6 people and it was somewhat of a challenge trying to be on the same page with everyone. For the video, I volunteered to be the editor. While I had some prior experience with video editing, I was able to utilize different techniques and media this time to create a pretty good end result.
Future Growth
In the future, I want to be able to include a certain feature in the video editing process that I wasn't able to, due to time constraints.
